Suction and Pressure Hoses
The suction hose is used by the fire service to draw water from open bodies of water or other external water sources. It is particularly robust and rigid in order to withstand the negative pressure created during suction.
The pressure hose, on the other hand, transports water under high pressure from the pump to the source of the fire. It is more flexible than the suction hose.
Together, suction and pressure hoses form the basis for a reliable water supply and distribution, which is crucial for successful firefighting.
While the suction hose is responsible for taking water from external sources, the pressure hose ensures efficient water transport and use at the source of the fire.
