Gas Detectors, CO Detectors, Multi-Gas Detectors
A CO alarm for the fire brigade is used for the early detection of carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon monoxide is a colourless and odourless but highly toxic gas that is produced during incomplete combustion processes. The CO alarm warns firefighters in good time of dangerous concentrations of this gas, which is vital as high levels of carbon monoxide can quickly lead to unconsciousness and death. These portable detectors are able to measure even small amounts of CO and provide audible and visual alarms to enable immediate protective measures to be taken.
There are also multi-gas detectors specially designed for the fire service. The use of these warning devices significantly increases safety during operations in potentially hazardous environments, such as fires, gas leaks or chemical accidents.
