The Combat Application Tourniquet, or simply CAT, is a one-handed ligation system used to staunch or momentarily stop blood flow in emergency situations, particularly in tactical casualty care. The tourniquet can be applied to all extremities with an individually adjustable strap. The winch system (tape with toggle) tightens a freely movable inner strap to stop the inflow of arterial blood into the limb. It only takes one movement to fix the gag under a clamping hook. During transport, the CAT's Velcro closure provides additional security.
